    Gymnastics is a fantastic way to help your child develop fundamental movement skills for life.

    We offer a variety of different gymnastics programs for children from five to 16 years. Our programs are perfect for helping children learn new gymnastics skills while developing the strength and agility required for other activities in both sports and dance.

    Launchpad gymnastics

    Launchpad is a suite of Gymnastics Australia kids gymnastics classes. Sessions are taught through fun, engaging and sequential activities and focus on fundamental movement skills.

    The program also aims to develop life skills including confidence, self esteem, discipline, body awareness, strength, flexibility and movement foundations from which the basis of all other sports are formed.

    The YMCA Launchpad program involves all apparatus and gymnastics disciplines.

    Classes are available every day of the week.

    Gym Basics

    Ages: Five to six years

    Session times: Gym Basics runs everyday.

    Gym Fun

    Ages: Seven to eight years

    Session times:

    • Monday to Friday 4:00pm to 4:55pm, 5:00pm to 5:55pm
    • Saturday and Sunday 9:00am to 9:55am, 10:00am to 10:55am

    Gym Skills

    Ages: 9 years and over

    Session times:

    • Monday to Friday 4:00pm to 4:55pm, 5:00pm to 5:55pm
    • Saturday and Sunday 10:00am to 10:55am, 11:00am to 11:55am

    Gym Skills Advanced

    Once students have progressed through the Gym Skills program, or have prior experience with gymnastics, they can be assessed in centre as to whether they can progress to this level.

    Ages: Ability-based

    Assessment times:

    • Monday to Friday at 4:15pm, 4:30pm, 4:45pm, 5:15pm, 5:30pm and 5:45pm
    • Saturday at 11:15am, 11:30am, 11:45am, 12:15pm, 12:30pm and 12:45pm

    Session times:

    • Monday to Friday 6:00pm to 8:00pm
    • Saturday and Sunday 11:00am to 1:00pm

    Gym4All

    Gym4All is a beginner gymnastics class for teenagers. The class encourages teenagers to try new skills and develop their experience using gym equipment such as bars, beams, trampolines and more.

    This class is suitable for teens who have not participated in gymnastics before. This class will develop skills for the intention of moving into our Launchpad program.

    Ages: 10 to 16 years

    Session times: 

    • Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 5:00pm - 5:55pm
    • Saturday 12:00pm - 12:55pm

      Terms and Conditions for Gymnastics Makeup Classes at the Y

      1. Notification of Absence
        • Participants must notify the Y of their absence at least 1 hour before the scheduled class. Notification can be made through one of the following methods:
          • Online (via the client portal on the Y website)
          • By phone
          • In person at reception
        • If notice is not provided at least 1 hour in advance, the ability to schedule a makeup class will be forfeited.

      2. Eligibility and Use of Makeup Classes
        • Makeup classes can only be utilized while there is an active enrolment in the gymnastics program. If a participant's enrolment ends, they will not be eligible for makeup classes.
        • Makeup classes cannot be exchanged for a refund, except in the case of a medical condition. A valid medical certificate must be provided to the Y for the refund request to be considered.
        • Makeup classes expire 3 months after the missed lesson and will be forfeited if not used within this time frame.

      3. Makeup Class Availability
        • Makeup classes are subject to availability. The Y cannot guarantee a makeup class if the desired session is full or unavailable.
        • Makeup classes are not available for all levels. For example, classes that operate only once per week may not offer makeup options.

      4. Pre-Booked Makeup Classes
        • Makeup classes can only be booked within 7 days in advance of the desired class date.
        • Makeup classes cannot be transferred to other individuals. They are specifically for the child who missed the class.

      5. Restrictions on Makeup Class Usage
        • Makeup classes must be used within the same level as the original missed class. They cannot be applied to a different level or class format.
        • Gymnasts may have an unlimited amount of makeup classes on their account. However, they remain subject to the conditions above, including notification requirements and availability.

      6. Cancellation and Rescheduling of Makeup Classes
        • If a makeup class is missed or the participant fails to attend, the opportunity to reschedule or replace the missed makeup class will be forfeited.
